    Why is it that the Israeli’s have to be portrayed as they are the aggressors in this latest burst in the Siege of Israel.
    God bless those who fight to defend their Family and Freedom.
    Israel will be truly free when Messiah comes. ( Not Obama)

    May he rest in the Lord’s peace, may his family have the Lord’s loving comfort and consolation.

    Though our principles limit the IDF’s effectiveness, they provide us with intangibles that more than compensate—the confidence and the strength to pursue our aims secure in the knowledge we are acting justly, and the unity that comes from a society acting in accordance with its most cherished values.

    I must disagree with the author on this one point. The IDF’s core principles (and by extension, those of the state of Israel) make them more effective. By retaining their moral compass, they are building a future where they and others may one day live in peace. To act otherwise would not only further endanger the state of Israel now and in the future, it would rob the soldiers and the population of Israel of their souls.

    The West Bank is relatively peaceful now exactly because Israel has acted honorably against those living there who have wished it harm. The longer this peaceful period lasts, the more difficult it will be to break.

    Israel now has a moral obligation to finish what it has started, for the sake of SSgt. Emanuelof, the Palestinian people in Gaza, the population of Israel, and peace-loving people worldwide. I wish Israel success and a brighter future.

    Finally to SSgt. Emanuelof and his mother:
    The LORD bless you and keep you;

    The LORD make His face shine upon you,
    And be gracious to you;

    The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,
    And give you peace.

    Magash Hakesef (The Silver Platter)

    The earth grows still.
    The lurid sky slowly pales over smoking borders.
    Heartsick but still living, a people stand by
    To great the uniqueness
    Of the miracle. Readied, they wait beneath the moon,
    Wrapped in awesome joy before the light. - - Then soon,
    A girl and boy step forward,
    And slowly walk before the waiting nation;
    In work clothes and heavy-shod
    They climb
    In stillness.
    Wearing still the dress of battle, the grime
    Of aching day and fired night
    Unwashed, weary until death, not knowing rest,
    But wearing youth like dewdrops in their hair.
    - - Silently the two approach
    And stand.
    Are they of the quick or of the dead?
    Through wondering tears, the people stare.
    “Who are you, the silent two?”
    And they reply: “We are the silver platter
    Upon which the Jewish State was served to you.”
    And speaking, fall in shadow at the nation’s feet.
    Let the rest in Israel’s chronicles be told.

    What a handsome young man, and what an engaging smile! I can only imagine the life he had ahead of him, to be cut short by a people frothing with a hatred that stems from the hurt feelings of a megalomaniac hundreds of years ago.

    Mohammed liked the Jews, until they refused to join his religion, then they became the children of apes and pigs. Thin skin and blind ambition are not a good combination.

    God bless this young man, his family, and all those who serve the cause of free people everywhere. May he rest in peace.

    What a moving tribute, not only to the young soldier who gave his life for his country, and to his family, but to a nation and its people.

    I agree that Israel will prevail.

    My condolences to the soldier’s family and his military family as well.

    Thanks David, first story I read tonight and you rip my guts out. Crying on my keyboard and proud of him as I can be. Very good explanation by General Mizrahi on their battle philosophy. Night ya’ll
